Eurostar, the Musical is the first English-language release by the French chanteuse Anne Brugière. Inspired by 60s ye-ye pop and the Eurostar, the EP is a preview of a full album, set to be released later this year.
Anne’s first album, Outremanche, was released in the UK and France in 2010 and acclaimed as “alluring, filmic and bewitching.” Critics compared her music to Yo La Tengo, Stereolab and Francoise Hardy.
The French Pop Dream is a series of songs set between London and Paris about belonging and waitressing. It’s summer pop, brushed with the atmosphere of 1960s Paris.
The EP is produced by rising young London musician Jamie West, heading a team of French and English musicians, including the accordionist Myriam Gasser. It was mastered at Abbey Road by Christian Wright, who has also worked on No 1 albums by Eliza Doolittle and Keane. Visuals are by the Parisian photographer Nathalie Seroux.
